As you may know, I worked for Special Olympics Michigan several years ago, and have done the Polar Plunge once before. It's an exhillarating experience - and totally worth being chilled to the bone because it benefits some of the most inspirational athletes in the world - Special Olympics athletes.

The Polar Plunge is made possible by the Law Enforcement Torch Run®, a group of police officers and corrections personnel committed to raising funds and awareness for SOMI. Proceeds from the Polar Plunge support the year-round sports training and athletic competition for more than 20,679 children and adults with intellectual disabilities who live in Michigan.
