Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

Since our founding in 1910, Scouting has fostered the ideals of character, citizenship and personal fitness. In these times of economic turmoil, political scandal, and military conflict many wonder … Why is Scouting still relevant?

  • Scouting serves all youth. Rich, poor or middle-income; regardless of race, religion or physical ability. Help is available for those unable to pay Scouting’s modest fees.
  • Scouting provides positive role models. Caring parents, adults and community leaders help to provide programs and opportunities for Scouts to learn and grow.
  • Scouting is relevant. Scouting helps youth to face and deal with issues like drug abuse, child abuse, illiteracy, hunger and teenage unemployment that they may face in this ever changing world.
  • Scouting strengthens the family unit. Scouting is a family centered program designed to form a lifetime bond between a young person and his family.
  • Scouting provides service to the community. Scouting for Food, a community wide food drive, service projects, and volunteerism are organized for each youth to participate in service to others.
  • Scouting is fun and adventure for a young person. With so many dangerous places for young people, Scouting provides meetings, activities and camps where a young person can explore nature, test physical skills and grow leadership abilities in a safe and positive way.

Friends of Scouting is our annual sustaining effort which enables us to impact the lives of over 100,000 young people each year. This Friends of Scouting campaign not only sustains our services to current Scouts, parents, leaders and communities, but also allows us to extend the Scouting program to youth that have not yet had the opportunity to join.

Just $171 will support one Scout during 2010. Please consider making a gift to support one or more Scouts today!

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
