Dear Friends,
Our family is committed to doing all that we can to ensure that LGBT students feel safe and supported. We want middle and high schools to be places where all young people thrive, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity and expression. So does the Gay Straight Alliance for Safe Schools (GSAFE).
This year, GSAFE is hosting its third Walk-Run-Eat fundraiser on October 11. Our family has set an ambitious goal of raising $2,501 for the cause. Will you help us—and support the programs of GSAFE—with a pledge?*
GSAFE works with hundreds of LGBT middle and high school students and their allies who share a passion for social justice. As a GSAFE board member, I have seen for myself the powerful impact that these extraordinary and courageous young people have in our schools and our communities. School by school, they are creating the change that we all want to see.

* Caveat Donor: While Deb and Josh will be walking (and eating) for GSAFE on October 11, Emily and Jenny will be marching on Washington that day with hundreds of thousands of others to make clear that now is the time for full equal rights for LGBT people. Different location, same cause. And the same goal of empowering young people to stand up for who they are and for what they believe, with the loving support of the adults in their communities.
