I know at some time you wanted to tell me to go jump in the lake.  Now, you can actually make it happen.  I will be plunging into Longview Lake on February 3 for Special Olympics Missouri in the annual Polar Bear Plunge - and I need your help!

By pledging your support, you'll be helping us provide training and competition for more than 1,800 athletes in the KC Metro Area.  And, you'll make it impossible for me to chicken out! 

Now, as if pledging to see me freeze my fur off isn't reason enough, I'm also offering the chance for you to determine my costume for the Plunge.  Here's how it works - I'll put three choices below.  If you want a certain costume, put your choice in your "comments" when you pledge.  The costume that raises the most $$ in pledges will be what I wear.  The choices:

1. Penguin - Tuxedo, beak and flippers.     
2. A Speedo.  (Hide the women and children if this one wins...it won't be pretty.)  
3. Miss Polar Bear Plunge - Dress, wig, crown and a sash.

This page will be updated regularly so you know how the costume contest is coming along.  And in all seriousness, I and SOMO thank you so much for helping out.  Our athletes truly are the reason for freezin'.

UPDATE: Speedo $275; Dress $175; Tuxedo $25.  Well, there's the bad news.  If you are coming to watch Saturday, leave the cameras at home and bring a blindfold to wear when it's my turn.  Thanks to all who voted!!
