The obvious question: Am I insane? 

You probably already know the answer to that.  And if there was ever any doubt, I'm taking the plunge again...so yeah, crazy just about covers it.  But there is a very good reason for doing this - and no, it's not just because I work for Special Olympics. 

I'm the biggest sports fan I know and these athletes are what it's all about.  They enjoy competing because they can.  They make themselves and their teammates better in the process.  Brandie and I would be so fortunate if our own children grow up to have the courage, the passion and the compassion these athletes have.  Being a part of the SOMO family is quite a privilege for me.  Taking the plunge is the least I can do. 

So...please use a few bucks as your way of telling me to go jump in the lake.  All of the money stays in Kansas City for Special Olympic athletes - they are the reason for freezin'.  Also, this is your invitation to come out to Longview Lake on February 2.  You don't have to plunge.  You can just watch wackos like me go in a frozen lake.  We'll even have places you can keep warm, get some food and just have a great time.
