Lack of access to clean water is the single most destructive force to human life, more so than all of the world's wars combined.   Half of the world's hospital beds are filled with patients dying from diseases caused by drinking dirty water.  The daily march for water is a dangerous time waster that forces people into a desperate cycle of poverty.   

The tragic irony is that safe water is all around them.  They just don't have access to it.  In order to get to the safe water, someone has to drill a very deep hole. 

For $1 you can provide clean water for a person for one year.  Think about that the next time you spend $1 on a bottle of water.
