Last year I ran for me. This year I run for them.
For my second 1/2 Marathon, on January 17, 2010, I have challenged myself to bring a greater purpose to running 13.1 miles. (as if there is much purpose at all). This year I am running as part of Phoenix Children's Hospital's "Miracles in Motion" team to raise money for the ongoing efforts of Phoenix Children's Hospital.
“Miracles in Motion” will raise vital funds for Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH). As the only comprehensive children’s hospital in Arizona, PCH is the leading provider of pediatric care in the state, serving more than twice the number of children than any other single hospital in Arizona.
I have seen, more then I would have liked to, the complex nature of sick and injured children and the highly specialized care they need. The services, provider training and community outreach provided by PCH is vital to every kid - even the ones who may never come through their doors.
On Jan 17th 2010 I will run 13.1 miles (in less than my 2009 time of 2hr 3min hopefully!) in honor of kids such as Zander (pictured on the left) and the countless other lives that PCH impacts every day. If you help me reach my goal of $1,500 for PCH, I will do the rest.
Thank you for your support!
(And feel free to come out on race day. Familiar faces on the course make it much easier to keep running).

About Zander:
Zander and her twin were born 15 weeks early, weighing only 2 pounds. Zander fought to become healthy. He was frequently hospitalized his first two years of life but he has never given up his fighting spirit that his first nurses and doctors fostered to him. At three-years-old he is stronger and healthier than ever.
