Support the USA Men's Pair with Coxswain

We are proud to announce that athletes from the Oklahoma City National High Performance Center will be representing the United States in the Men's Pair with Coxswain at the 2011 World Rowing Championships. The championships will take place August 28 – September 4 in Bled, Slovenia.

Members of the crew:

Anthony Altimari, University of Wisconsin '11

Blaise Didier, University of Washington '10

Derek Johnson, Yale University '11

Competing in such an event is costly and the fees associated with traveling over seas are the responsibility of the athletes and coaches.

A brief breakdown:

•Airfare for 3 adults to Ljublijana, Solvenia: approximately $4500.00

•Accommodations, meals, airport transportation, daily transport to venue for 3 adults: $10800

•Boat lease for Men's coxed pair: $700.00

TOTAL: $ 16 000.00

Any size donation will be helpful. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might also want to donate! Go USA !

A note from Blaise:

"Hi, my name is Blaise Didier, and I am a rower. This means I have dedicated my time and effort towards the sport of rowing. I began rowing before I entered high school at the age of 15 at a summer rowing camp in my home town, San Francisco, CA. Here I am, nine years later competing at an elite athlete level. Winning the chance to represent the USA is a big step for me and my boat mates, as this will be our first time competing at the Senior World Championship level. This race is a stepping stone to the Olympic Games next year in London. In the sport of rowing, we rely on our teammates to get us through our race. Now, we need the help of our family and friends to make our Olympic dreams possible. Every donation counts, no matter how small. With your help, we can fulfill our dreams to be the best athletes we can be and to compete at the very highest level in representing our country.

Thank you"
