Share the love this Christmas buy buying a needy teen my Cd! The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation needs help finding gifts for ages 10-14. Tweens and teens are hard to buy for and they love music! For every 5 dollars you donate, a Cd will be given to a deserving teen and your 5 dollars will go the the Cure Jm Foundation( an organization that raises money and awareness for a rare auto-immune disease in children to find a cure). I was performing at the Horton Plaza Mall in San Diego a few weeks ago and I met a father(Damon) and his daughter(Abby). They bought my CD and I talked with them briefly. Two weeks later, my Mom got an email from Damon saying that he really connected with the first song "Miracle". Damon felt it expressed everything he felt about his son Mason Smedley, who has a rare autoimmune disease called Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDMS). Mason was in the Intensive Care Unit at Children's Hospital and having a tough time. Damon requested I come to the ICU and sing "Miracle" to Mason. My Mom and I were very touched by Damon's email and decided to go. We lugged in my keyboard and guitar, and I played a 20 minute concert for Mason at his bedside. (Watch video above)
The love in the hospital room was overwhelming. After sharing this special time with Mason and Damon, my Mom and I walked out of the hospital as different people. We knew we had to help in any way that we could. The next day, Mason was transported back to a Portland Hospital where he is still fighting his illness. Feb 14, 2009(Valentines Day), I held a benefit concert at Horton Plaza. 100% of the CD proceeds that day were sent to The Cure JM Foundation. Hundreds of people heard about Mason's story and JM. Many people had big hearts and wanted to help. This resulted in 70 CDs being sold and $466 total collected that day. Thank you San Diego and Horton Plaza! This is just the begining which is why I have set up this page. I will be performing in a benefit concert in Portland August 8th to help raise money to find a cure. Please help me reach my fund raising goal. Every little bit really helps. Thank you in advance for your support.

Mason encountered a drastic setback the beginning of 2009 during an event planned at raising money for Cure JM. We had traveled to San Diego to run in the Carlsbad marathon. During the first night there Mason was rushed to Rady’s children’s hospital due to complications breathing. What I didn’t know when this happened is that my life would encounter a series of life changing events. It has changed who I am and driven me towards a greater purpose.
Jessica's song “Miracle” has brought such happiness and emotion through me the many times I have listened to it. While in San Diego Jessica comforted Mason at bedside, serenading him to sleep with the song “Miracle”.
