I recently became aware of this horrible and devastating disease through a friend of mine, Matt Beaudry (www.firstgiving.com/brotherlylove), whose brother suffers from it. This is one of this worst hereditary diseases I've ever heard of and it shocked me that it is not more well known of, especially since it is apparently fairly common.
In this day and age with all of the technology and breakthroughs in medical research, this disease and those who suffer from it, should not be short changed or neglected simply because our society's lack of awareness. We need to find a cure!
