Jessica Trites Mann's Fundraising Page
Hello everyone,
I have decided that I am going to do the Brain Tumor Walk Angel Adventure, on May 3rd, 2008. This will be my first walk! I am truly excited about this. I saw the ad on TV for it, and an overwhelming feeling of “I HAVE TO DO THIS” came over me. So I am.
Some of you know what my life has been like in the last year while trying to get my brain tumor removed and gone. May 2005 I found out I have a growing pituitary gland tumor. In September the tumor started to cause havoc with my eye sight, headaches, my health, and dizziness. They tried to control it with medication, but it slowed the growth, but it was still growing. They talked about removing it, radiation, and chemo-type therapy. Between the weekly blood test, monthly MRI’s, and the consistent upset stomach from all the meds, I had the tumor surgically removed in April of 2007. After I had the tumor removed, I went in for weekly injection treatments for 6 months. November, I found out I am tumor free and have been for over 6 months. I still am being monitored and taking the medication to help me stay tumor free, which I will have to take for the rest of my life. They finally found a medication that doesn’t cause any serious side effects. I am excited about this walk.
My parents have joined me in this walk to support this caused that has touched our lives. I am writing you in hope that you will sponsor us in this walk. We have to raise at least $1200. This donation can be use for a tax right off.
