We are raising funds for the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, in hopes to one day find a cure!

Tuberous Sclerosis, also known at TSC, is a genetic disorder that causes benign tumors to grow on organs. It can affect the brain, heart, eyes, lungs, & other organs as well. TSC can cause seizures that are hard to control, mental delay, and autism in some cases. You can read more on this disease at the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance web page www.tsalliance.org.

Our Story....

Our daughter started having seizures when she was about 9-10 months old. After CT scans, an MRI and TONS of blood work she was diagnosed with TCS. Her bloodwork confirmed the diagnosis on April 29, 2009, the day of her 1st birthday, The news was crushing, and I felt like our world was falling into a million peices. The next few months were filled with heartache as I tried to accept the truth, and not knowing what TSC would do to her. Would she be normal? Will she be able to live a happy life? How do we do this?

  We watched our baby girl go through hell with seizure treatments that caused terrible side effects. At one point she was having up to 10 seizures a day. Medication after medication was used over the next two years. Some simply did not work, some worked a little, and others worked temporarily. I was constantly asking "WHY!?" It took me a long time to accept this diagnosis & realized that she has TSC, NOT the other way around.

  It's been over two years since the diagnosis, and I am happy to say that our daughter is a very happy, funny, beautiful, smart, sassy, normal 3 year old! She has lots of friends and loves to go to preschool and ballet class! She is doing well on her current seizure medication. And she has never let TSC hold her down! Most people could only dream of having her courage and strength.

 Our journey had a rough start, but we are ready to continue on this journey together. Battling TSC along the way, and we would love for you to join us on this journey to fight and BEAT TSC.
