Sara's 2012 JettRide
Mother, grandmother, nurse and bicycle rider, Sara Perszyk is participating in her third JettRide. With over 32 years of pediatric nursing experience, Sara has cared for many boys and young men with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. She current works for The Stepping Stones Program at Suncoast Hospice in Clearwater, Florida. Sara has been an avid biker for more than 38 years.
Once again, Sara will lead the JettRiders on a cycle tour of America. Over the course of 4 weeks, our team will bike through 8 states and over 100 cities/towns. The ride takes off from MN on July 1, 2012 and will arrive in NJ on August 3, 2012.
Duchenne is the most common lethal genetic disorder diagnosed during childhood today, affecting approximately 1 out of every 3,500 boys. Duchenne causes loss of muscle function and independence, there is no known treatment or cure for Duchenne.
I am participating in this event, not only because unlike boys with Duchenne, I CAN, but also because the Duchenne community needs much continued support to move ahead with urgently needed research and clinical trials.
With your help, I will ride for those who cannot. Each mile will bring us closer to finding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy!
If you would like to sponsor my efforts, you may do so here!! If you would rather send a check, please make it payable to the Jett Foundation, 68 Evergreen Street, Suite 1, Kingston, MA 02364, with my name & JettRide written in the Memo.
