Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
On April 28, 2012, I will be walking “Naked” my invisible dog at Richmond Animal League’s annual Strut Your Mutt event on Monument Avenue in Richmond VA.
The Richmond Animal League, the areas first and oldest no-kill shelter, has been rescuing, rehabilitating and finding homes for homeless companion animals since 1979. Last year RAL rescued and found permanent homes for over 900 animals.
In 2010, RAL opened the doors to the Loving Spay + Neuter Clinic - offering low cost sterilization surgeries to the public, rescue organizations and municipal animal control facilities.
RAL is a private not-for-profit organization that relies solely on donations and grants to generate the operating revenue needed to support their life saving mission and community services.
In our community, there are far too many dogs and cats waiting in shelters. These wonderful companions are hidden out of the sight of most people who don’t even know they exist. These frequently forgotten pets want nothing more than to be seen and given a second chance at life in a loving home. RAL’s dogs and cats are primarily pulled from the Richmond area’s municipal shelters. Each animal adopted from RAL actually saves two lives, the one adopted and one waiting to fill the vacated space.
“The Invisible Dogs” campaign, initiated by The Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab Utah, is all about bringing awareness to and finding homes for the “invisible pets” found in city shelters that face tremendous odds to get adopted. Shelter animals are often overlooked by potential pet parents who are looking for a new furry friend. “The Invisible Dogs” campaign is all about shining a light on local shelters around the country and letting the public know that there are incredible animals waiting for a home. They just need to be seen
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
