It's that time of year again.  Time to get into the holiday spirit and help the homeless hounds of Golden Empire Basset Rescue.  Avoid the Christmas rush and be the first on your block to have been in a televised Christmas parade.  We will be entered in the Bakersfield Downtown Christmas Parade on December 4, 2008, from 6pm to 8pm.  The theme is "Christmas as it should be".  We will once again have a trailer to decorate so the bassets and slaves can ride in style.  We would love to have a second trailer so we can have more room for the slaves and hounds.  This is a televised event and you won't want to miss your 30 seconds of fame.  Don't have a basset?  Want to be in the parade?  No problem, we are always in need of hound wranglers for the parade.  Can't make it to the parade but still want to help?  Collect pledges for the homeless hounds of GEBR.  There will be prizes awarded for the most pledges gathered.  (rumor has it there will be pearls involved)  You can donate pledges through our paypal account (gebr@bak.rr.com) or through our Firstgiving account.  Best of all, you don't have to be present to win.  We also plan on meeting after the parade for hot drinks, munchies and to meet and greet old and new friends.  So dress up those hounds in their Christmas finery, go get those pledges and help the hounds of GEBR.  Any questions can be sent to jpx@sbcglobal.net.
