I'm Freezin' for a Reason!
I like to learn as much as I can about all the great organizations that serve my constituents. One of those agencies is the Burroughs Community Center in Bridgeport.
For the 2nd year in a row, I will be "Freezin’ for a Reason"! That is right, on March 27th, I will be jumping into the frigid waters of Long Island Sound at Jennings Beach in Fairfield to raise money for Burroughs!
Burroughs provides the residents of Bridgeport with great programs for children, adults and families.
Kids go to Burroughs for many reasons including an after school program, summer camp, tutoring programs, and this year Burroughs is taking 25 Bridgeport students to California through the Tauck Summer Travel Program!
Adults come to Burroughs for a variety of reasons as different as learning English or any one of a dozen foreign languages in their Language Center and to grow vegetables in the Community Garden. Their 20 volunteers completed 550 tax returns for low income families last year, returning more than $700,000 to the community!
Organizations like Burroughs are a vital part of our Connecticut community. I hope you will be able to help me take the plunge by donating to this terrific organization.
Thank you!
