Alzheimer's came like a thief in the night and slowly, painfully robbed my mother of herself and all that she had dedicated herself to becoming. Only those who have walked this path with a loved one experiencing the decline can fully understand the horror and frustration of helplessly watching them fade away. I can not envision a more painful experience.

I think of mom every day and miss her.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support the Alzheimer's Respite Care Program of Central Jersey Caregiver Volunteers.  If you're not familiar with Respite Care it works like this: Volunteers are background checked and then trained to sit with Alzheimer's patients in the patient's home.  They sit with them while the primary caregiver (husband/wife/son/daughter) leaves to run errands, go shopping, cry on a friend's shoulder.  The purpose of Respite Care is to provide relief for primary caregivers by ensuring that their loved one is being watched by a person trained just for this purpose.  Caregivers charges no fee for their services.
