Did you know that about 1400 pastors leave the ministry each month due to moral failure, spiritual burnout, or contention in the church? That about 70% of pastors constantly fight depression and have no one they consider a close friend? (Lots of relationships, but not close friendships!) And about 47% of career missionaries leave their work within the first five years. Sobering, isn't it?
Our vision is to provide a safe place - an Oasis - for these ministry leaders to come to for refreshment and revitalization. Our spiritual shepherds NEED a place to get away, a place for quiet rest and solitude to reconnect with God and their spouse. Many of them are struggling with various challenges - from depression, to difficulties with spouse/others, to name a few. They need a listening ear, a loving heart, and sound Biblical counsel to help renew their perspective and focus in addressing the challenges before them.
The beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota is an ideal setting to establish an Oasis for precious servants of God to come to! In fact, we are in process of doing that right now!
With your help, we can provide ministry leaders a place where they can be strengthened and revitalized to get back into the saddle for what God has called them to do! Satan is doing all he can to knock them out of the saddle of ministry and unfortunately, he often succeeds. Please join us in helping them get back on their feet and back into effective ministry!
We are currently doing ministry from a large, fully furnished ranch home which we rent. Our objective is to acquire a permanent location for our Oasis ministry. We have a goal of raising $5,000.00 to purchase needed furnishings for our Oasis guest quarters (furnishings for the bedroom, kitchenette, living room, and other miscellaneous items).
