Angel Acres Bandito's Fund

Bandito was literally left to starve to death in a small 2 stall barn with his friend Gee. Gee did not survive the ordeal and died, he literally starved to death, in the stall next to his friend of 11 years.

Bandito remained in the dark, dank barn with his dead friend for at least 4 weeks, he was forced to drink his own urine and muddy water that ran into the barn to survive.

Gee and Bandito were put into the barn in January of 2010 and not found and rescued until March 18, 2010!!! Gee and Bandito were GIVEN to this gentleman in September of 2009, gentleman found a girlfriend in December of 2009 and fast forward to today...sigh...

Gentleman said that he had no money and  "threw in some sweet feed once in awhile". He arrived 350 lbs (vet verified) underweight and in terrible condition. Gentleman did have money to drive 40 miles each way to see new girlfriend. Charges ARE pending against this man.

We have gotten many requests about how to help with Bandito's care, so we have added this fundraising page. All proceeds will go towards Bandito's medical care, feed, feet, teeth, etc.

His harrowing arrival story is here.  It details his arrival and the first photos of him getting off of the trailer. You can click here for updates that have been posted on our blog or you can go to our blog and search "bandito". Bandito's own website page is here, but is not updated as regularly as the blog, due to his condition changing almost daily.

How could they allow him to be in the SAME barn in side by side stalls with his dead friend, who they allowed to starve to death?!

We hope we never get another case like this, sadly, we received Prince a week later, who succumbed to his abuse, neglect and starvation 36 hours after arrival.

He is a prime example of why you should NEVER just give your horse or horses away!

Please help spread the word about responsible horse ownership and spread the word about Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue!
