3 years ago this month, we brought home our little Miles from Ethiopia, where there are an estimated 5 million orphans.
Now eastern Africa is suffering its worst drought in 60 years, and Miles would like to help. He saw the pictures of Somalia on the news, and wants to feed his "brothers".
The charity we have chosen is the International Rescue Committee. They are working in Somalia, Ethiopia, and Kenya to provide assitance to farmers to repair wells, and also to build new clean water systems for refugee camps. I chose this because the skills learned and resources provided are long- lasting.
The IRC is an American Institute of Philanthropy Gold Star charity, and a Top Ten Forbes charity, with only 5% of funding going toward administrative costs.
For your efforts, I pledge to pull Miles in the bike trailer at least 60 miles each Saturday until we reach our NEW goal of $5000 (we've raised the goal 4 times in two weeks!).
Thanks for helping Meals from Miles!
