This year I am dedicating my fundraising efforts for BrightStone to our friend, Dr. Craig Ferrell. Many of you may know that we lost Craig a few shorts weeks ago due to complications from an unfortunate horse riding accident. His death has left a void in the lives of his family members, friends, patients and especially, at BrightStone.
My friendship with Craig and Lorraine goes back many years. We were friends in our teens, and then later in life I experienced Craig's compassionate care when he became my doctor.
I learned of BrightStone and the service to adults with special needs because of Craig's involvement and leadership. The Ferrell's son, Jon, attended BrightStone for many years.....and Craig was a visionary leader on their board. It was Craig's wish that BrightStone continue to grow and expand, and eventually establish the residential services that are so desperately needed in our community for these precious adults.
I hope that you will support my efforts to not only honor the memory of a wonderful physician, but to support a very deserving nonprofit organization. BrightStone, serving the community for almost 12 years, is located in Franklin, TN and is a resource that provides job training, daily life skills training and community opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities.
BrightStone accepts no government funding and relies heavily on the donations of individuals, corporations and foundations. Partnerships and relationships are most important as they provide hope for these adults and their families and strive toward a future of providing residential care.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. However, if you prefer to mail a check, please make the check out to BrightStone, memo BOWLABILITY and my name, and mail it to: BrightStone, P.O. Box 682966, Franklin, TN 37068.
