26.2 Miles: For a Great Cause
This will be my 3rd time running the P.F. Changs Rock n Roll Marathon. Although this is my first time running for Phoenix Children's Hospital & also running for a Honor Patient. This is for a great cause: the "Miracles in Motion" raises money for the Phoenix Children's Hospital (PCH).
Alise: My Honor Patient
Alise was diagnosed before birth with a serious heart defect. Alise was born prematurely and immediately taken to the Phoenix Children's Hospital, where they took excellent care of her. She was in the neonatal ICU for several months, then to pediatric ICU, as she underwent several surgeries. She needed surgeries for her heart to keep functioning, to help her airway open and to help her eat and swallow food. She began working with Physical , Occupational, and Speech Therapists at PCH. She was also being treated by GI doctors, pulmonologists, cardiologists, infectious disease specialists, feeding specialists and a host of other professionals looking over her. Alise has now had three open heart surgeries. She is a very bright 6 year old girl who has many more obstacles ahead of her. Alise's parents are confident that she has a bright future.
Thank you all for your help in raising money for "Miracles in Motion". All the donations go directly towards the patients care. Please help--every dollar counts!
