Joe Robert's Fundraising Page
You have just one more day to admire my hair in this photo and to help me raise money for kids with cancer! Today my friend Brit Hume called me to say he'll donate $40,000 for our campaign to support pediatric cancer care and research at Children's National Medcical Center. He's also encouraging others to join him to meet my new fundraising goal of $100,000. I've received calls today that assure me we can do this. We have 24 hours -- how much will you help us raise?
Tomorrow I will have my head shaved to show support for young patients who lose their hair during chemotherapy, and I'm asking one last time for you to join this cause with a donation of $25 or more.
You probably know that I recently lost my hair while undergoing treatment for brain cancer. Believe me, chemotherapy is no fun as an adult, and I can only imagine how traumatizing it must be for a child with cancer.
The pain and discomfort are bad enough for a child, but losing their hair is an added blow. That’s why I’m joining with police, firefighters, and others to honor children undergoing treatment for cancer – by raising money and offering to shave our heads. What the heck, it will grow back again.
Please donate $25 or more today for the cancer programs at Children’s National Medical Center. Then on Nov. 8, we’ll honor brave young children with cancer at the Be Brave and Shave event at Westover Shopping Center at 5841 Washington Boulevard in Arlington, Va.
Please make a donation to this important cause. I’m not asking you to volunteer to shave your head (though you’re welcome to join me if you feel like shaving your head or you plan on joining the Marines) – just for a modest donation to show your support and help me meet my fundraising goal. This will help children with cancer (and ensure I can pay for my haircut).
