Joe Sullivan's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my Special Olympics fundraising page! I am once again planning to brave the icy waters of Lake Zorinksy. Why? Twofold: First, I'm a nut (newsflash). Second, I have been inspired by Special Olympics athletes and I hope to raise money to support Special Olympics programs. Every time I see an athlete give it their all in a competition or speak in public on behalf of Special Olympics, I am blown away (and occasionally a little misty-eyed). I appreciate your consideration!!!
So here is my sales pitch for all the great things Special Olympics does:
Special Olympics is well known for the athletic competitions held year round but it offers much much more to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Through the competition athletes gain physical fitness, healthier eating habits, improved motor skills, self confidence, friendships, and increased family support. Through Special Olympics, athletes have access to health screenings and leadership development programs. Special Olympics Nebraska offers one of the largest young athlete programs in the country where children ages 2 through 8 participate in schools across the states with their siblings and peers. Special Olypics promotes inclusion of individuals with intellectual disbilities into school, work, and society, leads to higher employment and independence, and better quality of life!
Thanks again for your consideration and I want you to know I will not be going in to the water half heartedly. I will be fully submerging into the icy depths of Lake Zorinksy!
