CORNELIA DE LANGE SYNDROME FOUNDATION, INC.

2nd Annual Walk for Will & Hope

2nd Annual Walk for Will & Hope

We're back for round two.

Last year, we were bowled over by everyone's generosity and support for the 1st Annual Walk for Will and Hope. Thanks to your kindness, we raised more than $6,000 for the CdLS Foundation, a non-profit that provides support and research into Cornelia de Lange Syndrome. That is the condition that affected our son, Will Henry, who died in January 2005, and affects our daughter, Hope Beatrice, who turns 3 on Halloween.

This year, we're walking again at 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, at Stony Creek Metropark in Shelby Township. Once again, the date is picked to commemorate Will's birthday. This year, he would have been six. It's tough to imagine.

We'd love to see you there. If not, we'd love your support and are adding a nifty, high-tech twist, that allows you to donate through this site.

Donating on FirstGiving is simple, fast and totally secure and supports the CdLS Foundation. If you're uncomfortable, don't cotton to newfangled technology or just like writing checks, we'll take those as well. Make them payable to the CdLS Foundation and mail them to 302 West Main Street, Suite 100, Avon, CT 06001. If you have questions, contact us at mfeighan@msn.com or joelkurth@gmail.com

We know times our tough. We know many of you did your part last year. We thank you greatly and ask again to help out this great cause once again. The foundation has helped us through some of our most trying hours. We hope to grow this effort that means so much to us.

For more information about CdLS, go to  www.cdlsusa.org. For more information about us and our life, visit our blog, journeyofhopekurth.blogspot.com. We're trying to get better at updating.

So thanks. This site will be up for six months for those of you who can't make the walk. There's even some nifty links that allow you to spread the word through Facebook and other popular sites. We'd love it if you did so.

For those who can make the walk, we look forward to it, promise to feed you sugary snacks and a chance to say hello to Hope and our newest ragamuffin, Oscar, who was born in May.

Thanks again,

Joel, Mo, Hope and Oscar and memories of Will
