I have some exciting news to share!  I will be running the 114th Boston Marathon on April 19, 2010.  It’s been a long-held dream of mine to run a marathon and I can’t tell you how excited I am to make that dream a reality.

What makes it even more meaningful to me is the fact that I have joined Team Eye and Ear, a group of runners who are committed not only to training, but to raising money to advance the truly inspiring work of Mass. Eye and Ear.  

This is especially significant to me, as I work in nursing home setting, and see first hand, the huge negative impact that vision and hearing loss has on the elders that I serve.  If you are unfamiliar with Mass. Eye and Ear, here is a little about them.  Mass. Eye and Ear is a world leader in treating people with vision, hearing, voice and balance problems, as well as head and neck cancer.   They have a long tradition of pioneering research to develop new drugs and surgical techniques, and in training the top specialists around the country.  And they are right here in Boston!
