Bob Jackson's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page. Those of you who know me know I was lucky enough to end up at Faithful Friends. They took great care of me while I was waiting for my new home. But now they need my help which is why I am writing to you.
This year has been a tough one for anyone in the business of saving animals lives. We have seen some of the most unfortunate situations with people and their pets. Dogs and cats are being abandoned at record numbers.
Faithful Friends Inc. No Kill Animal Shelter is a nonprofit agency located in Wilmington serving the community by housing and expertly caring for over 1,200 homeless dogs and cats each year. This year, the shelter reports a 400% increase in the number of animals abandoned to their care due to the economic crisis families across the state are facing. The shelter has announced the opening of a free pet food and supplies bank along with expanding their low cost vaccination clinics to help people keep their pets healthy. According to Ms. Pierantozzi, Executive Director, “A 400% increase in the number of animals abandoned in our care is equivalent to 183 dogs and cats we didn’t plan for. Our goal is to raise an additional $55,800 in the next three months to provide for their medical care, food and housing until adoption. Without any government funding for their care, we must rely heavily on the generosity of the community to provide our signature quality care for these compromised animals.”
