About Soaring Wings Christian Home & Ranch
At completion, Soaring Wings Christian Home & Ranch will have a maximum of five homes for boys and five homes for girls. Six to eight children will live in each home with a full-time set of house parents. The house parents will be a committed Christian, married couple who have been "called" into this special work. The couple will have undergone an extensive interview/testing process before being hired.
The goal of each home is to maintain an environment that will offer each child a chance to develop into a confident young adult with a high degree of self-sufficiency, exemplary work ethic, a strong ethical base with a clear understanding of right and wrong, a team player mentality, and a biblical understanding of sin and forgiveness. In addition, they will receive instruction in social skills, proper etiquette, and appropriate physical hygiene.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."--Philippians 4:13
About Us
We, John and Janice Allison, run endurance races to keep alive the memory of our beautiful daughter, Amanda Marie Allison, who was shot and killed at a party on January 15, 2011. Amanda’s murder left us dazed and staggering around in a sort of haze until God revealed His will that we organize Running with Amanda to Reveal the dangers of teen substance abuse, Reach people for Jesus, Raise money for charity, and Remember Amanda.
Our beautiful daughter was only four days from celebrating her 18th birthday when she was killed, at the threshold of adulthood she would not live to cross. Like most her age, she was anxious to graduate high school and to prove to the world that she could make it.
She had plans to graduate high school and study Criminal Justice at Arkansas State University in Beebe, Arkansas. She was four years old when she decided she wanted to be a police officer and her dream never changed from that day until she was murdered.
Amanda loved people and animals. She had many friends and often regularly brought home stray animals she had found. In her short life, the love she showed impacted many, many lives. More than 800 attended her funeral and many continue to post on her Facebook wall, promising never to forget her.
Her life was cut short, but we know we will be joined again with her one day in Heaven. Until then, we will continue to run to honor her memory and keep her memory alive. We ask for your help by donating to the charities we support. You can also help by visiting and interacting with our websites to help us spread our message.
