Thank you for visiting my page!
I would like to take a few moments to give you some background about the Unity Tour; how it came about, where it is today, and why we ride year after year.
In May 1997, the Police Unity Tour® was organized, by Officer Patrick P. Montuore of the Florham Park (NJ) Police Department, in an effort to bring about public awareness of law enforcement officers that have died in the line of duty and to honor their sacrifices. The first Police Unity Tour® started with only 18 riders on a bicycle ride from Florham Park to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial (NLEOM) in Washington D.C. which raised $18,000.
Over the next 13 years the Police Unity Tour® has grown and in 2010 we had over 1,200 members nationwide that made the trip and we are proud to announce that we were able to donate over $1.3 Million dollars to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, bringing our total donations to nearly 8.4 Million dollars since 1997.
Our commitment is twofold first is to raise awareness of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty and second to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial Fund.
Many thanks for your support
