John Duong's Fundraising Page
Howdy Partners,
I'm here to support Sara, one of my closest friends, who has lupus. I’ve known Sara since elementary school and have watched her grow up into a beautiful woman. A few years ago she started feeling sick, getting fevers, experiencing chest pains, and became always tired. For being a normally active person these symptoms appeared out of the ordinary. She went through numerous tests and was diagnosed with lupus and has been in a battle to stay healthy enough to live a normal life ever since. It is not an easy battle because there is very little research on lupus and there is no cure.
What is lupus?
For those who are not familiar with lupus it’s a chronic autoimmune disease. Basically the immune system is designed to attack foreign substances in the body. If you have lupus, something goes wrong with your immune system and it attacks healthy cells and tissues. This can damage many parts of the body like skin, kidneys, heart, lungs, blood vessels, and the brain.
Why is this important?
Most people have never heard of lupus and that is why it is so important to be able to raise money to help educate people about this disease and also help find a cure. I am asking you for your help in a donation to the Pacific Northwest Chapter Lupus Foundation of America. I will be joining Sara and her family in the Mad Hatter Walk and Roll to help spread awareness of this disease. Thank you for your donations and support!
How can I help?
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
