Gracie's Walk 2008
Thank you in advance for your generous support in helping to raise awareness of Angelman Syndrome and to raise funds to support the Angelman Syndrome Foundation ("ASF"). (Please see side note for details re: the Angelman Syndrome Foundation.) The annual ASF walk-a-thon, being held in Naperville, IL on 5/17/08, helps to introduce Angelman Syndrome to the community and raise funds to improve day-to-day lives of those with Angelman Syndrome and for research and improved medical treatments for Angelman Syndrome (and hopefully someday a cure).
As many of you who are visiting this website are aware, our family's angel is Gracie. Gracie is a sweet, happy, loving six-year old girl who was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome when she was 1 1/2 years old. Since that time, Grace has made tremendous progress through various private therapies and at school. She never ceases to amaze us!! Although there are a number of things that Grace cannot do, there are far more things she CAN do and we feel there is no limit to her potential. In more ways than not, she is a typical six-year old who is losing teeth and going through a growth spurt and enjoying swimming, horseback riding and playing outdoors with her sisters.
As a family, our goal is to provide the best possible future for Grace and the Foundation is a large part of that. As such, we are asking for your help in either participating in this year's walk or sponsoring our family as we walk. We feel we have been truly blessed to have family and friends who care as they do.
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page and your consideration to sponsor us in this cause. Please keep our family in your prayers - Grace truly is our little angel.
