United States Lightweight Men's 8+
Thank you for visiting the United States Lightweight Men's 8+ fundraising page! As some of you know, the Riverside Boat Club High Peformance Group will represent the United States at the 2007 Senior World Championships in Munich.
The purpose of the Riverside High Performance Group is to provide a place where post-collegiate oarsmen and women can make the transition to elite international competition. The athletes receive no outside financial help and work full-time between twice-daily practices just to barely stay afloat financially. They do it for the love of the sport and for the opportunity to represent the United States.
Unfortunately, the lightweight men's 8+ and a few other trials-selected events receive no financial assistance and the athletes must cover the considerable cost of the trip to the World Championships themselves. In an effort to help those athletes at the club level, the Riverside High Performance Group is raising money for the trip to Munich. Please consider donating to this cause. Any amount helps. Donations are also tax-deductible, as Riverside Boat Club is non-profit.
Many thanks for your support -- and please forward this to anyone else who you think might want to donate.
On August 16th, Riverside Boat Club raised an additional $10,000 in an event held in Cambridge. We are halfway to our goal, and every bit helps! Thanks again for all the support. It is humbling to see how many people care about the boat and amateur rowing.
Sincerely,

Note: Five percent of all donations will be placed in an endowment to be used by future Riverside athletes competing internationally without funding.
If you would prefer to send a check, please make the check payable to Riverside Boat Club and make a note of "Munich".
