Jamie Inglis's Fundraising Page

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!

My story. I am Jamie Inglis and I am 5 in August. I was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in Apr 2009. I was treated in Germany in the Uni Klinuk in Dusseldorf as my dad is a SSgt in the Medical Corps in the UK Armed Forces serving in Germany and my mummy is a Primary school teacher working in the military school. I have undergone 8 rounds of chemotherapy, MIGB therapy, my kidney and tumour was removed, had high dose chemo and stem cell transplant and received radiotherapy. I was very sick in Sep 2009 as I acquired pneumonia which progressed into a sepsis and I nearly became an angel! I am a fighter so I managed to pull through in the ICU. My mummy had a baby girl 'Poppy' in Jul so we were really busy and it was a stressful time being in hospital and dealing with a young baby. My little sister is nearly 9 months now and she is really cute!

Specialist Treatment My family is from the UK and we have had to raise a staggering $520,000 in 12 weeks to receive specialist immunotherapy treatment that will help me beat my cancer neuroblastoma and prevent it from coming back. This treatment which has become a standard treatment in the US is not available in Europe unfortunatley. We are now living in the US in Philadelphia for the next 6 months and very gratefull for all the support we have received so far from the wonderful American people. I had radiotherapy in Mar/Apr this year in the US and I will start my immunotherapy treatment next week in the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) if all my scans and bone marrow tests reveal that I am still free of bulky cancer.

Help Needed  We have worked so hard to promote Jamie's story and to susutain the huge funds needed for his treatment via the media, friends and our community. We have had great help from the public in Germany and the UK and from the military community but most of this financial support is drying up as the perception is that because we are over in the States receiving treatment that eveything is taken care of. It is also very difficult to maintain fund raising in the UK as we are in the Sates now and extremely busy managing Jamie's situation and supporting our family. The truth is that we still need to fund raise for additional treatment costs and contingencies should my cancer relapse as the UK government will not support us financially or help us in our situation and we do not have health insurance like many of the families in the States! We will also have to visit the States many times over the next few years for follow up visits, tests scans etc.

Please watch my video and pause to give me some thought and help us with our plight to help me beat my cancer.
