Hi and thanks for visiting my Team World Vision fundraising web page. I'd really appreciate your support in something I feel very strongly about.

I am looking to raise funds to help transform the lives of 10 children for 3 years in World Vision’s Mudasomwa Area Development Project in through child sponsorship.  I'm looking to take a separately funded trip to Rwanda this July to actually meet the children and their families that might be sponsored through your kind offerings.  I am very excited to share my experiences from what will, no doubt be, a life changing event for me.

In essence, I'm looking to get fundraising for every mile that I swim/bike/run for 2007.  I'm expecting to do 7,000 miles and at a cost of $.06/mile, that would cover one child for a year.  Any contributions are more than welcome.

According to United Nations estimates, every 14 seconds a child is orphaned due to HIV/AIDS. This means that over 6,000 children every day join the over 14 million children worldwide who have been orphaned by this disease. Often these children do not have enough to eat, no clean water to drink, no access to proper medical care, they cannot attend school and grow up in an environment of fear and neglect. Without a loving hand to support and guide them, in many cases they must care for sick and dying parents and are left with the responsibility of raising their younger siblings. Our hearts are broken for these precious children and like me you may have wondered, "What can I do to help?"

World Vision is present where human needs are greatest; working to provide hope through health care, clean water, nutritious food, education, and economic opportunities to children and their communities.
