I'm asking you to kindly sponsor me as I will be in Kenya Africa, February 17, 2007, to participate for the second time in the "10 to 4 Mountain Bike Challenge", a mountain bike race and charity event down Mount Kenya in an effort to raise funds for wildlife conservation and local community development in Africa .  I will again be one of the members of the Born Free team, who is also helping to co-sponsor this event.

The race starts in Mount Kenya 's forests 10,000ft above sea level and ends at the Ngare Ndare River at 4,000ft. However, it is not all downhill!  Last years event covered a little more than 30 miles, with much uphill during the latter part of the race, crossing stunning and diverse terrain.  This year’s course has been extended to just over 40 miles, which should really test our mettle and fitness.

Your sponsorship will help us fund vital wildlife conservation work in Kenya undertaken by the Bill Woodley Mount Kenya Wildlife Trust. 75% of profits will be donated to the Bill Woodley Mount Kenya Trust; the balance will be distributed to local school and community projects along the route.  All sponsorship funds go directly to the event.  And of course, it is our own responsibility to get ourselves there.
