Dear Friends,

As the year draws to a close and the merriment of the holidays begins to pass, we are left to ponder the state of our global village. Having developed quite an affinity for this world, Bennett and I have decided to forgo the remainder of our holidays to do our part for charity.

Rather than enter a recording studio and produce a song of limited appeal and questionable worth, we have decided to do something more ridiculous. We have decided to join the rickshaw run (www.rickshawrun.com), a 2 week, 2000 mile jaunt from the tip of the Indian sub-continent to the base of the Himalayas in a three wheel rickshaw to raise funds for Mercy Corps International (www.mercycorps.org).

By partaking in this act of utter insanity, we hope to inspire others to donate to Mercy Corps to fund their work against poverty in one of the world's most stricken regions. We have set a modest goal of raising $1300.00, but we hope to far exceed that amount with your help. Your tax-deductible donations will directly benefit those in dire need and will further fund Mercy Corps' work in India.

To our friends and colleagues, we'd like to thank you in advance for your support. And to those among you who are less fond of us, rest assured. There is much anguish, frustration, and inconsolable despair ahead of us in our humorous adventure against poverty.
