Run Everyday.  Check.  Run Across America.  Check.  Run for an amazing foundation and experience the Boston Marathon.  Donate today and this will be checked off on April 19, 2010.

This will be my 11th marathon run but none have been so prestigious and none have ever been for a cause.  It's time to give back because running has given me so much.  Team Hoyt has graciously accepted me (and my dad!!) on to the 2010 team to raise funds and awareness for the Hoyt Foundation and their mission "to integrate disabled people into everyday life by educating the able-bodied about challenges faced by disabled person".

Team Hoyt's message is, "Yes You Can!" and you can help spread this message by making a donation today here through my fundraising page or by learning more and visiting http://www.teamhoyt.com/

The Beginning of Team Hoyt
In the spring of 1977, Rick told his father that he wanted to participate in a 5-mile benefit run for a Lacrosse player who had been paralyzed in an accident. Far from being a long-distance runner, Dick agreed to push Rick in his wheelchair and they finished all 5 miles, coming in next to last. That night, Rick told his father, "Dad, when I'm running, it feels like I'm not handicapped."

I have personally committed to raising $3,500 for the Hoyt Foundation as a runner on 2010 Team Hoyt at the Boston Marathon.  But I don't want to limit it to just the minimum - wouldn't it be great to raise double that or even $10,000!  $1, $10, $1000.  Any size donation is welcomed and appreciated.  Together, we can.

"The 2009 Boston Marathon was officially Team Hoyt's 1000th race. Rick always says if it comes down to doing one race a year he would like it to be the Boston Marathon: his favorite race. Dick Hoyt hopes that he is able to push Rick in the Boston Marathon when he is 70 years old (2011)! Neither Dick or Rick are ready to retire yet."

Donations can be made online or offline. Donate through this fundraising page by hitting the "SPONSOR US NOW >” button at the top or bottom of this page and follow the instructions accordingly. There's always time to run a mile!  See you on the track, trails, or road!
