John Jay Mihelich is Coasting for Kids!
Thank you for visiting... let me tell you a personal story:
GKTW is "a magical resort where kids who face life-threatening illnesses can be kids". I had a unique personal guided tour of GKTW Village in Florida last year with my friend Kara who works there and I was absolutely amazed at this wonderful place and what they do for kids!
What does GKTW do? Well, you've heard of Make-A-Wish Foundation, right? If a child's "wish" is to go to Disney World (a very common wish) or other central Florida attractions, Make-A-Wish meets with the child's family and arranges to fly them to GKTW Village, which then takes over and gives them a wonderful experience including their own family villa in the magical village (it looks a lot like a fairytale village), transportation, tickets, and VIP experience at Disney (no waiting in lines!) for the whole family. It's hard to describe how awesome this place is in just a few words, but I will gladly tell you all about my personal tour - just ask me!
What is Coasting for Kids? I'll be riding roller coasters (I know, huge sacrifice) at Michigan's Adevnture on June 10 - along with several other Coasting for Kids participants - to raise awareness of this great cause. In turn I'm asking for sponsors to donate to GKTW so they can continue to provide this magical experience and never have to turn anyone away. Will you consider donating? Every dollar helps.
If you don't want to use a credit card, I can also handle cash and check donations made to Give Kids The World. You'll get a receipt for your tax deductible donation.
Thanks for taking the time to read my story. Below is more information about how your pledge will help.
Since its founding in 1986, Give Kids The World has welcomed over 97,000 families from all 50 states and over 68 countries. Last year alone GKTW hosted more than 6,500 families.
Give Kids The World has made a promise to never turn a child away. For 70 percent of the year however, the Village runs above 100 percent occupancy, meaning some families must lodge off property during their Wish Trip. For this reason, Give Kids The World Village is in the midst of the largest expansion project in its history.
Demand for Central Florida wishes is forecast to increase about six percent each year through 2015. To accommodate this growth the Village will need to expand to approximately 192 villas. Every person you tell about this mission, will help bring GKTW one step closer to achieving this goal.
Donating through this site is simple, fast, and totally secure. Your contribution to my personal fundraiser for Give Kids The World will make a difference in the lives of these special children. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to share this opportunity with anyone who you think might want to donate to the Village as well!
Thanks for reading!
