JUSTRIGHT MIX PROJECT PRESENTED BY THIRD FLOOR NETWORK
Mixes for Homes: A Series of Fundraisers to Build Homes for the Less Fortunate in the Philippines
The objective of the JustRight Project is to raise awareness to the youth about the current poverty in the Philippines and to raise money to build homes for families with the harshest living conditions. All profits will be donated to the ANCOP Foundation (USA) Inc. ANCOP is an acronym for “Answering the Cry of the Poor” with a main goal to help those in need and uplift the Philippines from the third world. It is the organization that is working in hand with the JustRight Project to build homes in the Aytona Village in Sorsogon Province, Philippines. It only takes $2,300 to build a long-standing home in the village that is passed on from generation to generation. The Aytona Village consists of land donated by the Aytona family (personal friends of DJ Jay-P’s family) with a plan to build a village and a farm for the future livelihood of the villagers. The beneficiaries of the homes are families described to be the poorest of the poor, most with five or more family members and only one working provider. The village is built by volunteers consisting of engineers and construction workers who will work in hand with the locals strengthening the closeness of the community. So far there are pledges to build over 20 homes, a park, a multipurpose room, and a pre-school in the Aytona Village.
In the digital savvy age, the JustRight Project will use a pure peer-to-peer marketing strategy to raise awareness targeting the youth by the youth. The 'JustRight' slogan will be used across social networks to encourage others to do something positive for others and share what is “JustRight” personally to them. The Third Floor Network plans to fuel the campaign with a series of “word of mouth” events consisting of concerts, art shows, auctions, marathons, nightclubs etc. as fundraisers while encouraging any individual who wants to be a part of the campaign to do the same. JustRight supporters worldwide are encouraged to document their own fundraisers whether small or large in photos and videos to be shared across social networks like Myspace, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter to encourage their friends, family and co-workers to do the same. All profits of the entire JustRight Project will go to building homes in the Aytona Village.
The JustRight Project launches in January 2011 on www.itsjustright.org leading to the release of the JustRight Mix CD by DJ Jay-P in early February 2011. It will be available for download and hard copy. The project will continue thereafter with a series of fundraising events until DECEMBER when the beneficiaries will recieve their new homes.
We set the fundraising target to $2,300 to build the first home and raise our goal after each home is donated. We are now working on building a third home.
