The Burden Family's Fundraising Page
2010 marks the 8th consecutive year that the Burden family will be participating in the Big Brothers Big Sisters annual Bowl For Kids' Sake Campaign! Each year we not only have fun participating, but also feel good that we are teaching our kids about giving back within their community by raising pledges to support local youth mentoring programs!
Last year the Burden family raised $650 through reaching out to our family and friends. Our goal is to top the $750 mark in 2010 and we are kindly asking for your help with reaching this goal. No support level is too small or too large ;) Even a $10 to $25 committment level assists with matching a child with a mentor in our community.
Every dollar raised through Bowl For Kids stays local and supports their efforts to match kids, ages 6-14, with an adult volunteer role model. Kids matched through the Big Brothers Big Sisters programs are typically from single-parent households and need just a little bit of extra attention to keep them on the right track. Many kids show an improvement in self-esteem, in their academic performance and through their communication with peers and adults...just by having a mentor in their life!
Donations will be accepted through March 20th when we join other bowlers to celebrate the positive effects of youth mentoring. We are using this (safe & secure) site to let people know about our participation, however if you would rather write a check (made payable to Big Brothers Big Sisters) it can be sent to 1239 Huebbe Parkway, Beloit WI 53511 (attention JoLynn). All donations are tax deductible.
There are so many needs in our community (and worldwide) that we thank you for considering a 2010 donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rock, Walworth & Jefferson Counties. Your contribution will help cultivate relationships that provide area youth with skills to manage every day life challenges!
THANK YOU~
