The theme for Bowl For Kids 2008 is "be a Superhero" and the Burden clan has taken it to heart by deciding to dress-up in their favorite superhero outfits (Spiderman holding bowling ball, green Power Ranger girl and the high-flying caped dogs) to help make a difference through supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters and their annual Bowl For Kids fundraiser.  This is their 5th year of participation & they are really looking forward to the event once again (they are actually smiling under those masks)!

However, not all superheroes wear capes....some are like you & me trying to make a difference in their community.  Big Brothers Big Sisters matches adult mentors with kids who just need a little boost or some extra attention!  Together they work on a special friendship, opening up communciation, increasing self-esteem and also on a positive attitude towards school.  Our volunteers are special people who not only give of their time and talents but also share their life experiences with a child.  They are an additional positive influence in the child's life..some days we could all use that!!
