Well it’s almost that time of year again.
Time for the Marine Corps marathon (31 October) to raise money for the leader in autism research, Organization for Autism Research (OAR).
It’s also the time of year to watch me embarrass myself for 26.2 miles thru the streets of Washington DC and Northern Virginia. And sadly, it’s also the time of year for me to reflect on why once again I didn’t train properly.
This will be my 7th Marine Corps marathon. Despite a hatred of running, constant whining, and refusal to properly train I have 4 goals for this year’s marathon:
Raise at least $1,000
Finish better then 4:30
Find more free beer along the course
Not get caught crying like a sissy again
Autism effects 1 out of about 150 people in our country and most likely effects someone you know. From firsthand experience with the leaders of OAR I can say with full confidence that your kind donation will go a long way to help the entire family.
OAR is a national non-profit that provides practical information to the autism community by funding research studies whose outcomes offer new insights into the development of individuals with autism, with an emphasis on education, social life, and employment. OAR's information programs provide guidance on the best therapies and treatments for those living with autism.
I ask you to please donate what you can to our team and pass this email to all of your friends, family, and co-workers.
