Hey Marfamily,

 

When you think of Ben Weisman or Jonathan Martin the first thing that comes to mind is, quite obviously, a beautiful head of hair.  In fact, in Ben’s case, the hair is so beautiful he had no choice but to let it take over his face as well and become an equally amazing beard.  But what’s under those heads of hair?  What mysteries do they cover up?  How ridiculous would they look without it?  Now is your chance to find out while making a difference. Why wouldn’t you join in?

 

Here’s the challenge.  Raise $15,000 by July 14th, 2011, and several lucky teens will have the chance to shave Jonathan’s head and Ben’s head and beard at the 2011 conference in Portland.   Be creative.  Work together.  Talk to your friends and family.  You’ll help ensure that the NMF can continue to offer all the amazing programs (like the annual conference) that we all love.  And you’ll ensure that Ben and Jonathan will look ridiculous!  Talk about a win-win!

 

But it gets better.  Raise $30,000 and former board member and volunteer extraordinaire, Chris Heaney, will let you cut off his hair and beard, AND he will donate an additional $15,000 for conference scholarship fund.  Think about it.  What this means is that if you AMAZING teens in the NMF community can come together around this project, it has the potential to be a $45,000 event!  Talk about worth losing your hair over.  Good luck! 

 

There are lots of ways you can raise funds, and the NMF is there to help you with fun and creative ideas:  Penny War, Bake Sale, Marfan Wrist Band Sales, Hang a Heart Campaign, Garage Sales, Letter Writing Campaign, Recycling Drives, and MORE!

 

Use Skype and TokBox, or Facebook and Twitter to coordinate efforts across the country.  Make it a competition by region or state, or Boys against Girls. The possibilities are endless.
