Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. It is an honor to run on behalf of Lupus research, and to raise money in support of all those that are afflicted with this autoimmune disease.
It is no secret that the 2012 New York Marathon was cancelled in the aftermath of hurricane Sandy. I have however been given a guaranteed spot for the 2013 New York Marathon, which I have just accepted. So I will again be donning the lurid orange of my team singlet and making an attempt on New York.
To get over my disappointment over New York last November, I signed up and ran the West Palm Beach Marathon last December 2nd wearing my team colors; the picture shows the Old Boy struggling over the finish line in 79 degree heat, very happy to have finished. If all goes according to plan, New York 2013 will be my 7th marathon in just over two years, and will be preceded this year by the Paris Marathon in April, and the Juneau, Alaska Marathon in July. To those of you that are not runners, it probably does not sound like much fun, but it is, and as I have said to many people, if I can do it, so can most people.
I dedicate these runs in a special may to my wonderful sister Janice. In addition to being a warm, generous and big hearted person, she is also a much loved sister, and sadly, a sufferer, these many years, from Lupus.
Thank you everyone that has supported me and Lupus reseach, finacially , or with your encouragement. It means a lot to me.
