People often ask why I do the Polar Plunge, and the answer is, I believe in the importance of developing a sense of pride and accomplishment in those who don't have the advantages of being "normal" (if such a thing exists). I believe in doing whatever it takes to bring attention to people who need a venue that helps them overcome adversity. So to do that, I intend to plunge into the ocean, scream and kick like a little girl, and flail in the water until I get back to dry land. Since the water probably won’t be as cold as it has been in the past, I think multiple plunges will be in order. Please contribute to the Special Olympics; a lot of people will be very thankful for it.

Special Olympics Virginia uses sports as a catalyst to change society’s perceptions and treatment of people with intellectual disabilities. By sponsoring me in the Polar Plunge® you are helping Special Olympics Virginia continue its mission to change the lives of more than 10,000 athletes across our Commonwealth. I invite you to join me and experience heartwarming extremes as I seize the freeze and plunge into the icy Atlantic Ocean this February.
This is an incredible cause, and I thank you for your gracious support. Please don’t forget to forward this to your friends and family. I appreciate any support you can provide as together, we help Special Olympics Virginia.
