For the Holidays please donate to Medicforce Belize
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!
In February 2010 Medicforce in association with Nantahala Outdoor Center are travelling to Belize, Central America, to work with remote Maya communities near the Guatemala boarder. The team of volunteers will spend one week rebuilding a dilapidated community health center (that visiting doctors even refuse to use!), and one week conducting health outreach programs to smaller rural villages.
Our team of volunteers includes health care professionals and construction experts. We need to raise $2,500 to pay for building materials and medical supplies.
Providing medical training is essential to maintain sustainability. The community medic program is a framework that is used by MedicForce in all of its programs. This program provides community medical training that will save lives. Teaching new mothers how to stop their child from choking, or using electrolytes and water to treat dysentery are simple skills that save lives.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
