First off, thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am very excited to be participating in the Disaster Transport: Final Dispatch event on July 29th at Cedar Point, benefiting Give Kids the World.
About the Event
Disaster Transport (and Space Spiral) will be leaving the Cedar Point skyline forever on July 29, and to help send the ride off in true Cedar Point fashion, they're hosting a charity event benefiting Give Kids the World including ERT, a private reception and the eligibility for the last ride with the lights on on this great classic ride.
About Give Kids the World
GKTW is a magical resort where kids who face life-threatening illnesses can be kids. Since its founding in 1986, Give Kids The World has welcomed over 97,000 families from all 50 states and over 68 countries. Last year alone GKTW hosted more than 6,500 families.
Give Kids The World has made a promise to never turn a child away. For 70 percent of the year however, the Village runs above 100 percent occupancy, meaning some families must lodge off property during their Wish Trip. For this reason, Give Kids The World Village is in the midst of the largest expansion project in its history.
Demand for Central Florida wishes is forecast to increase about six percent each year through 2015. To accommodate this growth the Village will need to expand to approximately 192 villas. Every person you tell about this mission, will help bring GKTW one step closer to achieving this goal.
How You Can Help
