Hello my name is Jordan Dosch. I’m an undergraduate, majoring in English and Conflict Management. I recently was accepted into a Study Abroad program in Israel where my studies will be focused on religion, language, and culture studies. While I am there, I will be assisting a non-profit organization called Peace Players International. This NGO is in desperate need of supplies and donations. I am hoping to raise the resources through any kind of donation or sponsorship.

            I am working towards becoming a certified mediator, hoping that one day I will be able to help resolve conflicts on a professional level. I hope to get involved in areas in the world that have become destitute due to war. I spent 2 years performing a humanitarian aid mission from 2005 to 2007 in New York. The study abroad program will give me the opportunity to interact with Palestinians and Israelis face to face. Most of these interactions will come from working with Peace Players International. Peace Players brings together children as young as 8 years old along with teenagers from different backgrounds and teaches them to play basketball together. By doing so it shows the children that their political enemy is much the same as they are. I hope to take supplies with me on my trip to distribute among the teenagers. Many of the children don’t have shoes to wear for the games.

This study abroad program will enable me firsthand experience with dealing with conflicts within culture. It is truly a once in a lifetime experience. Please help me to make a difference while I am there. If you contribute to my funding I pledge to report back to you in regards to my experiences. I would gladly wear a T-shirt or distribute supplies with your company logo on it when I am involved with my humanitarian efforts. I am a student and my only objective is to help make a small difference in these children’s lives. The value of this opportunity is so significant; please help us bring together kids who have experienced nothing but hate and animosity towards each other by giving them the opportunity to bridge the gap through basketball.
