Joseph Rizzo's Fundraising Page
I will once again be running the Boston Marathon in (April) 2011.
I am running the marathon to raise money to support my research, which is dedicated to restoring vision to the blind. Our Boston Retinal Implant Project is a collaboration among the Harvard Medical School / Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Veterans Administration. Our team has developed a computer-chip device (i.e. a "retinal prosthesis") to implant around the eye to restore vision to patients with either retinitis pigmentosa or age-related macular degeneration.
Your support will be greatly appreciated, both by our team and by our patients, who are hopeful that our advanced technology will improve their quality-of-life.
Thank you for your donations in support of my 2010 Boston Marathon run - I raised over $26,000!
It is quite easy to donate on-line through this site. You will receive a tax-deductible receipt for your contribution. You can also send a check, made payable to: Joseph Rizzo, M.D./ Foundation of Mass. Eye and Ear. This check should be sent to:
Development Office | Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary | 243 Charles Street | Boston, MA 02114
