The CMC Development of the Big Band Movie Series

The CMC Development of the Big Band Movie Series

The Chicago Music Consortium is seeking funding for three projects.

The CMC Symphony Orchestra and Big Band are seeking funding for an Orchestra and Big Band concert that will be filmed to create a Computer Graphic Imaged (CGI) Educationally Enhanced (EE) DVD that will be submitted to Foundations and Corporations to seek funding for a yearly Orchestra/Big Band eight concert series.

The Big Band movie project is a 20 minute episode about the Swing Era (1930-1945) from the CMC 8 part, 16 hour, Educationally Enhanced (EE), and Computer Graphic Imaged (CGI) DVD movie series on the development of the Big Band.  The primary goal of the series is to educate disadvantaged children and youth around the world about an integral part in American History, the development of the Big Band, that dramatically changed the direction of American Arts and Culture.  The pilot and movie series will include the changes and events in American society and culture that led to the evolution of the Swing era from the music of the Roaring ‘20’s.

The CMC is seeking funding for a pre-production CGI EE DVD on the life of Hildegard Von Bingen (Medieval Period), the first part of an eight part series concerning Women in the Arts.  Subsequent CGI EE DVD's will cover Sappho (Ancient Times), Anne Boleyn (Renaisance), Elizabeth Jacquet de la Guerre (Baroque), Maria Theresia von Paradis (Classical), Clara Wieck Schumann (Romantic), & Ellen Taafe Zwilich and Joni Mitchell (Modern).  There are no intellectually significant video series available on Women in the Arts.

The CMC is dedicated to re-introducing primary and secondary students to the Arts.
